Figuero’s four months in barrel has an intense, violet-red color with violet reflections, confirming the wine’s youth. It is a clean and bright wine. The nose displays a nice complexity of full black and red-fruit aromas, including black berries, strawberries, cherries and redcurrant, with hints of black liquorice. The nose is well integrated with elegant and clean cocoa and coffee notes. There is a strong, balanced mouth feel, showing good structure with hints of berries on the palate. The well rounded sweet tannins lead and a persistent, lingering finish.
Tinto Figuero is the great dream of Jose Maria Garcia and Milagros Figuero, a vine-growing couple who have
devoted their entire lives to looking after their “majuelos,” with the aim of producing “top quality” grapes.
They are the proud heirs to a culture that has come down to them through several generations.
What make us different is our 131acres of vineyards. 62 acres of which are older than 60 years, from which we
pick the high quality grapes that make our wines so prestigious around the world.
The winery boasts of state-of- the-art technology and has the best resources to produce great wines including
gravity flow, automatic topping and computer-controlled fermentation. The barrels are made from the best
American and French oak, toasted by renowned master coopers and renewed every three years. These barrels are
instrumental in endowing Tinto Figuero wines with their unmistakable bouquet.
