Vinous 93 points - Bright gold. Nectarine, poached pear and honey on the deeply scented nose, with complicating floral and mineral qualities adding lift. Broad, densely packed and fleshy but sharply focused too, offering potent, smoke-tinged orchard and pit fruit flavors and a bitter note of citrus pith. Dry and nervy on the long, incisive finish, which features sexy honeysuckle and spice notes.
Wine Spectator 96 points - The Jonagold apple, pear, persimmon and lemon curd notes glide along, carried by hints of brioche and macadamia nut before giving way to a lightly toasted almond edge on the finish. Still shows a hint of raw youth, so let this settle in the cellar. Best from 2016
through 2024. From France.J.M. (Jan 29 2014)
