Located at the very centre of the Chateauneuf-du-Pape appellation, Ogier owns two vineyards : - Le Clos de l’Oratoire des Papes, A.O.C Chateauneuf-du-Pape ; a mythical and historic wine of Chateauneuf-du-Pape. With its distinctive label, unchanged since it was designed in 1926, and undisputed quality, recognised by wine writers and wine lovers the world over. - Le Domaine Notre Dame de Cousignac, A.O.C cotes du Rhone Villages, Cotes du Rhone, A.O.C Cotes du Vivarais. The wines are made from organically grown grapes. The 60-hectare property is situated at the confluence of the Rhone and Vivarais rivers, Domaine Notre Dame de Cousignac is the cornerstone of the Ardeche. Seven generations of winegrowers have looked after the vineyard here since 1780, which takes its name from the 6th century chapel dedicated to Notre Dame de Cousignac. ”Notre Dame de Cousignac” is also part of Ogier’s eco-environmental programmes with specific wines made from appellations and grape varieties covering the Rhone Valley. The company’s expertise has grown over 150 years,to offer now a new look on the Art de Vivre in the Rhone valley. 150 years during which time it has brought back into use traditional forms of cask that had fallen in to disuse and introduced new ones. Thanks to its understanding of the complexity of northern and southern Rhone Valley terroirs, Ogier adapts its ageing methods to each individual wine, allowing the purity of its fruit and its intrinsic character to shine through for the unique Ogier style : freshness, pure fruit aromas, depth. In 2009, to mark its 150th Anniversary, Ogier opened its new visitor centre, which includes the Conservatoire des Terroirs de Chateauneuf-du-Pape, an open-air space, where professionals and the public can see and feel individual terroirs, before visiting the cellars and tasting the wines.
