A straw yellow color, the wine offers classic aromas and flavors of peach, nectarine and apricot with a dry finish and pronounced acidity.
Weinhaus Heger, located in Ihringen in Baden, Germany, was founded in 1986. The wines are produced from vineyards owned by the Heger family and other respected growers. Joachim Heger supervises viticulture and works closely with growers to manage yield and the harvest. The wines are vinified by Joachim and co-winemaker Markus Mleinek.
Eighty-six acres of vineyards are planted on loess and loam soils. Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris are the primary varietals, but Riesling and Silvaner are also grown. Whole bunches are gently pressed and vinified in stainless steel (85%) or French or German oak (15%).
