The Ebro runs north-west to south-east across the top of Spain, and wine is cultivated along most of its length. Historically many of the regions planted Garnacha, from Rioja down to the Priorat. Although much of these plantations have been replaced with other varieties, there are still area where Garnacha dominates, like in the DO Carinena, where it is 60% of the area planted. This dry and sunny region is perfect for the Garnacha grapes and lead us to the name of Campos de Luz (fields of light).
