Wine Advocate 89 points - A rich Rose that?s from the Cotes-de-Provence, the 2012 Tourbillon (60% Cinsault, 30% Grenache and 10% Mourvedre) is made by Michel Tardieu and Philippe Cambie. Offering up plenty of candied cherries, spice and garrigue, it has surprising richness and length on the palate, while staying dry and refreshing. Domaine du Garde Temps Tourbillon Rose is a blend of Grenache, a thin-skinned grape often used to make rose, which imparts elegant aromas of small red fruits and brings roundness and strength to the wine, and Cinsault, a native Provencal variety which counters the strength with freshness, finesse, and fruit. Mourvedre balances the remainder with fine tannins and structure. The 40 to 50 year-old vines have deep roots, traveling down over 30 feet through the schist layer at the surface (that brings great minerality and freshness to the wine) and the clay subsoil (a natural sponge keeping them hydrated).
