Ripe aromas of elder and sour cherry fruit mingle with spicy flavors and juicy tannins on a long finish.
Since 1848, the Moser family has produced highly regarded Austrian wines from their estate vineyards in the Rohrendorf, Kremstal, and Apetlon at Lake Neusiedl appellations. Their contribution to modern viticulture is similarly noteworthy. In the 1950s Dr. Lenz Moser developed his eponymous growing method in which the vines are trained to grow higher, thereby making vineyard work easier. His twin sons, Laurenz and Sepp took over the estate in the mid- 20th century. The adulterated wine scandal in the mid-1980s decimated Austria’s export market – these lost revenues led to the decline and eventual sale of the winery. As a result, Sepp Moser was reborn in 1987 as Weingut Sepp Moser. In this new iteration, Sepp kept reduced its total holdings, keeping only their best vineyards in Rohrendorf and in Apetlon,. In 1991, Nikolaus began assisting his father and in 2000 assumed complete responsibility of the 82 acre estate. All Sepp Moser wines are certified organic and/or biodynamic.
