This hidden gem of a vineyard is located northeast of Prosser at about 950 feet in elevation. It is situated on a south sloping ridge next to a canyon and year round creek. French Creek Vineyard contains a 9 acre block of Wente Clone Chardonnay planted in 1980. Growing in soils composed of well drained, fine sandy to silty loam with fractured basalt and granitic deposits, the vines benefit from the gently sloped terrain and cooler Yakima Valley temperatures. Yields are naturally around 3.5 tons/acre.
