Deep ruby red with violet nuances.
Expressive and long, recalling red and black cherries, prunes and a touch of tobacco and pencil shavings. Palate
Well-structured and powerful, with well-rounded tannins that lead to a voluminous and seductive finish.
Wine Advocate 88 points - The 2009 Amplus One is a blend of 75% Carmenere, 20% Syrah and 5% Carignan that sees 12 months in barrel. It offers a mocha-scented bouquet with a dash of white pepper and cumin, the oak nicely integrated into the fruit profile. The palate is medium-bodied with a sharp entry and rather brusque, aggressive tannins towards the finish. Drink now-2017. (Dec 2012)
