The influence of lees contact shows in the creamy, elegant midpalate. An elegant, food-friendly white that shows discreet sweetness and nice acidity on the long and pleasant finish.
Wine Spectator 88 points - This dry and juicy version offers notes of orange blossom, clementine and passion fruit, with a spicy mineral base. Well-balanced and fresh-hard to stop sipping. Drink now. -AN  (Oct 31 2012)

Vinous 88 points - (80% muscat d’Alsace and 20% ottonnel): Bright, pale yellow-gold. Intensely floral nose is pure and refined. A rather full-bodied, structured muscat with grapefruit, cinnamon and pepper flavors that carry through impressively on the aftertaste. Offers considerable early appeal.  (Nov 2012)

Wine Advocate 90 points - Entirely from grapes in the Herrenweg (now dominated by the Petites Grains rather than Ottonel variant of Muscat) but not labeled to reflect that source, Humbrecht’s 2011 Muscat d’Alsace leads with tangerine zest, wintergreen and basil, along with intimations of the apple and honeydew melon that form a juicy matrix on its metaphorically cooling and delightfully refreshing palate. At once soothing and stimulating - and with supportive residual sugar scarcely detectable as sweetness -this illustrates the remarkably consistent success of Zind-Humbrecht with the finicky Muscat family, and will prove versatile through at least 2016. (Aug 2014)

The Humbrecht family has been winegrowers in Alsace since 1620 but the Domaine came by its current name when Leonard Humbrecht married Genevieve Zind in 1959. Located in the heart of the Herrenweg vineyard, Leonard significantly expanded the familyís holdings to include an enviable collection of Grand Cru and other high quality vineyards. The Domaine is currently managed by Leonardís son, Olivier Humbrecht, the only Alsacian winemaker to attain M.W. status. A staunch advocate for biodynamic farming, Olivier tailors every aspect of viticulture and winemaking based on terroir. Whether a single vineyard or a blend, place and vintage are clearly and unmistakably expressed in each wine.
Technical notes
(75% Muscat d’Alsace/25% Ottonel). 2011 was a wonderful growing season for Muscat. Grown in the gravelly and silty soils of Herrenweg Vineyard, the fruit was picked from vines that are on average 32 years old. The wine offers notes of fresh stone fruit with hints of stone and white florals. Indice 2
