Golden tone in the glass, the wine is rich and complex with freshness and finesse.
Wine Spectator 90 points - Very pure and chiseled, with a lovely stony underlay, offering pristine fennel, yellow apple, melon rind and jicama notes at the core. Shows a minerally, lightly saline edge on the finish. Drink now through 2015. 200 cases made. –JM

Domaine Fournier is one of the most important estates in the Sancerre area. Their 150 acres of vineyards are spread across the Sancerre appellation and include top sites in the villages of Verdigny, Bue and Maimbray, which enable them to produce wines of sophistication and complexity. They also own well placed sites in Pouilly-Fume and Menetou-Salon. Their state-of-the-art winery is designed to minimize handling of the grapes and allow for careful selection on sorting tables. Temperature controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks preserves the fruit and freshness. The Estate is directed by Claude Fournier, who is also the winemaker. He is dedicated to producing top quality wines of great elegance and finesse.
|The vines are more than 40 years old and planted on silex and argile. Fermented in stainless steel and matured on the fine lees in neutral oak.
