In the glass, the Pisoni Pinot Noir shows an extraordinary depth of color for a Pinot. The aromas are an intense expression of ripe, black cherries with notes of spice, licorice and hints of earth. In the mouth, the deep fruit flavors are wonderfully dense with terrific focus and length. The finish is very long with a smooth, velvety texture. This wine will age beautifully for many years in a proper cellar.
Wine Advocate 93 points - The 2009 Pinot Noir Pisoni is a richer, deeper wine endowed with considerable finesse. It shows gorgeous mid-palate fleshiness and tons of character, with a tendency towards the darker end of the fruit spectrum, all qualities that are hallmarks of this site, first planted in 1982. Menthol, licorice and spices wrap around the finish. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2017. (Aug 2011)
