In A.D. 958 or 959, the Italian King Berengario II bequeathed a parcel of land called Corte Lovadina to the Collalto family. The family has retained ownership of this valuable, 160 acre property located in the Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore region of Treviso, Italy. The vineyards are planted on a steep south-southeast facing slope between 150-1500 feet to calcareous and clay soils. Lampo is produced using grapes from Treviso and Valdobbiadene. The wines are vinified in the Charmat method and then filtered. The family firmly believes in sustainable farming and uses viticulture methods that minimize the use of pesticides and diminish their overall environmental impact.
