From the family’s oldest reserve solera, already established in 1792 when the bodega was acquired by Jose Pantaleon Hidalgo. A super-aged sherry, very dry with a lingering saltiness recalling its Manzanilla/Amontillado origins.
Wine Spectator 91 points - Alluring sandalwood and musk notes lead the way, followed by elegant ginger, cedar, date, persimmon and hazelnut husk accents. Offers a brisk, tightly focused finish. Drink now.—J.M. (Jun 18 2014)
