Typically Haut Brion has a complex bouquet of ripe fruit, tobacco and mineral, earthy scents. Rich, ripe, medium to full-bodied and well structured. A wine that seems to balance power and elegance, richness and harmony perfectly.
Steve Tanzer 92 points - Full ruby-red. Raspberry, minerals, lead pencil, smoked meat and roasted oak on the nose. Sweet and suave but discreet, with nicely integrated acidity contributing to an impression of firm spine. Very suave wine, but not clearly superior to La Mission in 2001. (May 2004)
