Wine Enthusiast 90 points - #3
Produced from the vines that surround the family house at Quinta da Aveleda, this is an exemplary Vinho Verde. Dry and crisp, with richness as well as freshness, it is a bright, tight and lightly mineral wine to drink now. - R.V. (Oct 2015)
Smart Buys 100 points - The 2013 Branco Quinta da Aveleda is a dry, un-oaked blend of 80% Loureiro and 20% Alvarinho. For a SRP of just $10 - maybe cheaper on the street - this is a nice bargain and a good follow-up to last year’s version. Crisp and beautifully balanced, it has fine texture, good fruit on the finish and surprising solidity - granting that it is very young. This is also just plain delicious. It may not be the most profound Vinho Verde you’ll find, but it has tension and great fruit flavor on the finish. At this price, it is a bargain. Just drink it fresh and young to experience what it does best. Drink now-2016.
Wine Advocate 87 points - Pale straw with a mild effervesece. The nose is crisp and alive with scents of green apple, guava, and pear in the lead with subtle bread dough and mineral notes. the palate is quite tart in the best possible way inviting the next sip and whetting the apetite. Great Value (Jun 2014)
